Don't throw away the lemon zest: Use it in these dishes to get a delicious meal

Lemon is the best source of Vitamin C and it protects your health and immune system, which is crucial for you during this time of coronavirus rule. But you usually throw out the lemon zest, which can be very helpful when preparing some dishes.

Pasta
Lemon peel and pasta can be combined. You can add the crust to everything from spaghetti sauce to seafood.

The most important thing is to add the lemon zest at the end to make the taste more recognizable. You can even fry it on any meal, much like parmesan.

Cakes
A little lemon zest can complement the cake's taste. Just like salt, just a little lemon zest will give you a unique taste.

Even if it's not written in the recipe, you can add a tablespoon or two of lemon zest, lime or orange zest to almost any sweet bread, muffins and biscuits.

The sauce
In addition to the sauce, you can add the lemon zest to the home-made or bought mayonnaise to enhance the already rich taste. You can also add the crust in different sauces when cooking dishes such as chicken or seafood.

Guidelines for grating lemon peel:
The lemon should be well washed and wiped off before you start shredding the crust. If you also need lemon rind and juice, grate the rind first, then squeeze the lemon. To avoid bitterness, do not grate the white, inner part of the crust and stick only to the yellow, surface layer. Once you have done that, you can prepare your favorite dish.
