The Rock says 'Red Notice' is Netflix's biggest investment to date

Netflix's biggest star original to date is currently being filmed in Atlanta, Georgia, and it should come as no surprise that it also carries the largest streaming service commitment. Red Notice is produced by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's production company Seven Bucks, with Johnson starring Deadpool's Ryan Reynolds and Wonder Woman Gal Gadot. It's a stellar lineup that is sure to get fans' attention, and that's exactly what Netflix will need considering the amount of money it has to invest to bring together these three huge stars.

Most people assumed that the spy thriller would carry a hefty price tag, a fact Johnson confirmed in an Instagram post-Monday morning. Johnson shared a photo of himself meeting with Netflix boss Ted Sarandos on the set of Red Notice and explained that the film received the largest ever service commitment.

"After all, we meet," Johnson wrote in the release. "It's a good idea to shake hands with our partner - Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos. Ted and his executive team visited our Red Notice movie set in Atlanta, GA. ”

The actor and producer went on to talk about Sarandos ’impact on the entertainment industry as well as the production of Red Notice.

The release date for the movie Red Notice is not yet known, but given that it has just begun production, it is unlikely to arrive before 2021 on Netflix.
