The Batman: Matt Reeves celebrates the start of filming

After a bunch of announcements, and despite uploaded images of vehicles and cameras earlier this month, screenwriter/director Matt Reeves marked the official start of work on The Batman with a Twitter post showing a movie film board on a leather chair.

Working alongside cinematographer Greig Fraser (and recording in 2: 39: 1 proportions), Reeves has Robert Pattinson in the role of Bruce Wayne (and his typically masked alter ego), Zoë Kravitz as Selina "Catwoman" Kyle, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Paul Given as Riddler, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, John Turturro as Crime Chief Carmine Falcone and Peter Sarsgaard in a mysterious role (with speculations that he might be Harvey Dent / Two-Face).

Beyond the obvious story of Batman combating crime in Gotham City, much of Reeves' approach still remains questionable. He is busy filming in London and Leavesden and also uses Glasgow.

The Batman hits theaters June 25 next year.

The Rock says 'Red Notice' is Netflix's biggest investment to date

Netflix's biggest star original to date is currently being filmed in Atlanta, Georgia, and it should come as no surprise that it also carries the largest streaming service commitment. Red Notice is produced by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's production company Seven Bucks, with Johnson starring Deadpool's Ryan Reynolds and Wonder Woman Gal Gadot. It's a stellar lineup that is sure to get fans' attention, and that's exactly what Netflix will need considering the amount of money it has to invest to bring together these three huge stars. Most people assumed that the spy thriller would carry a hefty price tag, a fact Johnson confirmed in an Instagram post-Monday morning. Johnson shared a photo of himself meeting with Netflix boss Ted Sarandos on the set of Red Notice and explained that the film received the largest ever service commitment. "After all, we meet," Johnson wrote in the release. "It's a good idea to shake hands with our par...
