Electronic Arts are reportedly planning to revive Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

According to some sources, the Electronic Arts publishing house has been given the green light to create a new Star Wars game from the KOTOR series.

The release of Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker and the accompanying visual dictionary (yes, these films have their own dictionaries) officially confirmed that the character called Revan was part of the Star Wars canon. Revan has first introduced in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and it seems that this link could result in a revival of the former BioWare game.

Specifically, according to rumors from Cineplex, from the same source that exactly revealed the plan for the Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series, Electronic Arts received the green light from Disney to create a KOTOR game that "integrates elements of the first two games with the intent of put things in the current canon of Star Wars. "

So, it would be a rework of old KOTOR games, but also something new? It's hard to figure out for now, and there's no guarantee that these rumors may be true. All we know is that some things really do coincide, and it would make sense if Electronic Arts used a license to create a Star Wars game in the RPG genre. Under the existing contract, they have a license by 2023, and according to it, they have dropped only four games in six years.
